South Holland, Illinois Police Officers Vote to Become Teamsters

South Holland, Illinois police officers voted on June 20 to join the Teamsters, another organizing victory for Local Union 714. There are 35 members in the bargaining unit.

Business Agent Barbara Cornett said the officers were eager to join the Teamsters.

“They wanted a union that would fight harder for them, and the Teamsters are that union,” Cornett said. Wages and working conditions are the officers’ top issues.

The officers are members of the 45-person department in the Village of South Holland.
